Scania receives significant truck orders in UK

This is one of Scania’s largest truck orders in Europe and the largest order for electric trucks in a calendar year.

Scania supplies trucks in the premium segment and drives the transition towards a sustainable transport system. Consortium Purchasing Group places orders for delivery of extensive trucks to Culina Group, WS Group and AW Jenkinson Group.

The complete order consists of 2,500 trucks to be delivered in 12 months. The deal includes a new SUPER powertrain and 100 battery electric trucks, the first battery electric 4×2 tractor from Scania to hit UK roads.

All vehicles are serviced with a three-year, comprehensive maintenance and repair contract, where parts of the vehicle fleet are financed through Scania Financial Services.

Scania CEO Christian Levin says: “Scania has had a close and successful collaboration with Culina Group, WS Transport and AW Jenkinson for many years. This agreement is very significant and represents a milestone in our continued journey towards sustainable transport”.

William Stobart, Vice President of Culina Group, says: “As part of the Consortium Group, we are very pleased to be able to renew our contract. With global disruptions in supply of goods, it’s a tough time for manufacturing companies. But Scania has worked closely with us over the past two years to minimize the negative effects for both of us. This shows what a strong partnership we have between our companies.

Chris Nevitt CEO of Scania UK: “I would like to thank the Consortium Purchasing Board for the trust and the opportunity to continue our excellent partnership. It is a testament to the strength of the relationship between the two organizations to make this announcement. But also a compliment to everyone who has built this business over the years”.
