A new manufacturer gives television to the advertising enthusiast

New American TV manufacturer Telly has an innovative business idea. The company is taking the concept of free-to-pay TV to the next level – it will simply give away half a million TVs that once cost more than SEK 10,000.

The TVs in question not only have the usual big screen, which in this case is 55 inches in a 16:9 format, but they also have an extra screen underneath what Telly calls a “smart screen.” It’s as wide as the TV screen itself, but considerably narrower. On it, Telly will constantly display advertisements in an area on the right, but also information such as weather and sports results.

There is a sound bar between the two screens, and in the middle there is a camera for video calls. The software has built-in support for Zoom and also an “AI-powered voice assistant” that responds to a “Hey Telly” call.

With a background in free demos

Telly was started by Ilya Pozin, who previously co-founded free streaming service Pluto TV. speak the edge that the company has several other plans for ad-funded TVs, including “Telly Rewards” that will give users gift cards or other rewards for completing surveys and the like.

The free TV offer is valid only in the United States, where customers can register on the site freetelly.com.
