Now Xiaomi has finally presented its latest flagship that complements the other phones in the 13 series. The Xiaomi 13 Ultra, as the new phone is called, gets a 1-inch Sony IMX989 sensor with a variable aperture between f/1.9 and f/4.0. Xiaomi isn’t the first manufacturer with a variable aperture, even Sony and Samsung have tested similar technology in their phones, and just like this one, it’s only possible to switch between the two modes, so they can’t be set seamlessly.
The quad camera setup on the back also includes a 50MP f/1.8 wide-angle one that uses Sony IMX858 with a 122-degree field of view. There are also two telephoto cameras, both of which use a Sony IMX858 with a resolution of 50MP. One is 75mm (2.5x) f/3.0 and the other is 120mm (5x) f/3.0. The cameras must also use optics from Leica.
Shifting focus away from the phone’s cameras, we find a 6.73-inch 120Hz QHD+ AMOLED display powered by the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 paired with 12 or 16GB of RAM. It can be had with up to 1TB of UFS 4.0 storage. The 5000mAh battery can be quickly charged at 90W or 50W wirelessly.
The phone will be available in black, olive green, and white with a faux leather finish. We don’t yet know how much the phone will cost here in Sweden, but we’ll update this article as soon as we know.
