Jaguar has a new electric car this year – the powerful four-door GT model

Jaguar is about to launch an electric car. Already in 2018, the Jaguar I-Pace arrived, but the competition was fierce – and the I-Pace fell by several points. Slow charging on fast charger and at home is the biggest drawback. Here, the I-Pace couldn’t measure up to the Tesla Model X and Audi e-tron, which were also challenging at the time.

The Jaguar i-Pace has undergone a few minor updates over the years, but overall, Jaguar has been constrained in continuing to invest in electric cars. Until now. Jaguar’s owner JLR Group has announced that Jaguar is gearing up to launch a new electric car.

This time it will be a UK-built four-door Gran Turismo model, and it will be the most powerful Jaguar in the company’s history. It costs from £100,000 (about 1.28 million SEK) and ranges up to 700 kilometers.

The new electric car is based on an entirely new and proprietary platform called JEA. Jaguar will reveal the model in more detail later this year. Sales will begin in 2024 with first deliveries in 2025.

Gerry McGovern, chief creative officer at JLR, offers a cryptic comment:

– We have seriously re-evaluated Jaguar as a modern luxury brand. The key to Jaguar’s transformation is that the design proves they are nothing but a copy.
