SOLD: A brand new Ford Mustang for SEK 5.8 million

During the famous Barrett-Jackson auction in Scottsdale, Arizona, where all proceeds go to fighting diabetes, the first customer’s example of the new Mustang went for $565,000.

This corresponds to SEK 5.8 million and the reason auction prices at charity auctions stand out so much over prices in the US is for tax reasons.

Seventh generation Ford Mustang

Thus it is the first version of the seventh generation Ford Mustang, with a VIN ending in 001, that has been released under the hammer.

This isn’t the first time Ford has sold its first model car through auction. The outgoing Shelby GT500, Mach 1 and Bullitt have been sold via charity auctions.

In the United States, donations are often tax deductible, which is the basis for prices that often drift away.

For example, the first Shelby GT500 of the previous generation, which was auctioned in 2020, fetched $1.32 million, equivalent to 13.7 million kronor.
