Meet Tommy from this week’s episode of “The Last of Us”. Movie Zen

MovieZine speaks to actor Gabriel Luna who portrays Tommy in “The Last of Us” Episode VI.

In the sixth episode of the programme “the last of us” On HBO Max, we finally get to meet the character and Joel’s brother Tommy Again, played by the actor Gabriel Luna.

Three months after the terrifying events in Kansas, Joel and Ellie wander the snow-covered countryside in search of Tommy, who is said to be somewhere in Wyoming.

After a while, they came into contact with a group of survivors on horseback, who threatened to kill them if they were discovered to be infected. When Joel mentions that he knows Tommy, they finally reach the settlement Jacksonwhich does not actually appear in the game series until “The Last of Us Part II”.

What follows is a very emotional episode as we get to see a more vulnerable side of Joel, as he and his brother deal with the time before their separation and what has happened since.

Gabriel Luna (“Agents of Shield,” “Terminator: Dark Fate”) does a great job as the more focused brother, who has really grown up and become a leader since we saw him in the first episode of “The Last of Us.”

MovieZines Television Editor Jonathan Bloomberg Previously had the opportunity to interview the actor, about his interpretation of the character of Tommy.

– In games, he is constantly present, they talk about him very much. You get a lot of information and context about Tommy and what people are saying about him. I love discovering things about characters this way. When I read a script, I always focus a lot on what the other characters have to say about the character. He says that other people’s perception of who they are is very important.

We’re also told that it took a while before Gabriel Luna played “The Last of Us.” He says he auditioned for the first half hour at a friend’s house ten years ago, but started playing it seriously after auditioning for the role of Tommy.

– I spent two months playing and finished it two days before we went to the group. It took me so long because the story is so heartbreaking. There is a limit to how much you can handle emotionally, but the same goes for how many times you can afford to see your neck snapped when you make a mistake in the game.
