Jaguar TCS Racing has completed official season testing in Valencia ahead of Formula E 2023.

Friday, December 16, 2022, Valencia, Spain – Jaguar TCS Racing has this week completed official in-season testing for the 2023 ABB FIA Formula E World Championship in the new Jaguar I-Type 6. Drivers Mitch Evans and Sam Bird competed at the Circuit Ricardo Tormo race track in Spain. The new Gen3 race car is put to the test during a five-day test drive.

With less than a month to go before the season kicks off in Mexico City, the Jaguar I-TYPE 6 debuted on the racetrack and drivers showcased their individual cars with new unique designs.

During eight rounds of testing, the Jaguar TCS Racing team gleaned many lessons from the new lighter, faster and more efficient race car. With a front drive train, new tires and more regenerative braking than ever before, the tests were a valuable opportunity to better understand the race car and improve the systems.

As the Jaguar TCS Racing team remained the same as last racing season, the experienced duo could focus on getting to know the new car. During the five days of testing, the drivers drove more than 1,500 kilometers, equivalent to the distance from Gaiden in England to Monaco, home of Jaguar TCS Racing.

New Zealand driver Mitch Evans finished third in both the third free practice session and qualifying. In the fifth test round, Mitch and Sam achieved the first and second fastest lap times overall with a new maximum power of 300 kW.
