Now the electric Porsche Taycan has reached a milestone. The 100,000th car rolled off the production line this week. It took Porsche three years to get here, and the first Taycan was produced in September 2019.
The three largest markets for the model are China, the USA and the UK, Porsche says in a press release. Sweden comes at the bottom of the list, with 1,797 Taiwanese.
– With the Taycan, we made a successful start in the era of electricity. We are very proud of reaching this milestone so quickly, despite the challenges posed by the semiconductor shortage and the Covid situation, says Kevin Jake, Vice President of Model Line Taycan.
The model is currently available in three body variants: the Taycan sports sedan, the station wagon Taycan Sport Turismo variant, and the station wagon Taycan Cross Turismo elevated variant. It is available in many different engine options, from rear-wheel drive to all-wheel drive with outputs ranging from 300 kW (408 hp) to 560 kW (761 hp).
Now there are a lot of Taikis who have been able to drive really long distances. One of these is French transportation entrepreneur Jean-Hubert Revolon who has covered 19,000 miles since receiving his Taycan in August 2020. Jean-Hubert drives up to 120 miles a day.
He fell in love with the Porsche Taycan for its design and “technical innovations, which benefit the environment as well as my money due to lower operating costs.” “Good road stability and extreme agility, something only wizards at Porsche can manage,” he adds.
More electric cars on the way
Over the next year, Porsche is expected to showcase An all-electric version of the Porsche Macan. It will be based on a newly developed platform (PPE) and will be able to deliver around 650 hp and super fast charging with an output of up to 270 kW.
A new generation of electric cars from Porsche will arrive in 2027 When it becomes an all-electric Panamera. It will be based on Volkswagen’s SSP platform.
