Here’s how to test the new Google Home app before its launch

We previously wrote about Google’s overhaul of the Google Home app. The application is used to install and control not only Google speakers, Chromecast and other Google gadgets, but also everything that can be connected to Google Home and Google Assistant. As these tools have become more numerous in recent years, Google has decided that the app needs to be reviewed and improved. At the same time, a number of completely new functions have been added.

Although Google has presented many news, it is not yet finished with the new application. During the development work, they let the users to test the app and this is where the actual preview possibilities for you come into the picture. By registering as a test pilot, you can access new functionality now.

The news includes a special favourites view where you can quickly find the devices you use most often, a summary of what happened, regardless of the device, a media player so you can see what media is playing, and a live video that feeds directly to the home screen, for example Surveillance cameras and event automation capabilities more easily, to name a few.

You sign up as a test pilot directly in the Google Home app and it works well for iPhone and Android users. You can find the notification under Settings – General Preview.
