Niklas Lindback is 10th after taming the first day

Veteran Niklas Lindback made his championship debut at the A-Level in 2006 during EC at Fontainbleu. He has, among other things, three EC team medals on his resume, and now the 48-year-old is taking part in his third water course. Competing individually and doing so with 15-year-old Focus Filiocous, the duo were 35th at the last water course at Tryon four years ago.

Lindbäck began taming a toilet in the best possible way in the most personal way.
71.05 percent, 29 penalties, giving 10th place, when half of the starting field is down. The Swedish WC rider praises his horse afterwards.

– He was feeling good a few years ago, because we put a lot of hard work into it, but the points never really came. SVT Sport’s Niclas Lindback says he took it easy today and danced more forward there and then the point came.

12th Swedish national team

Malin Josefsson and Golden Midnight are part of the Swedish team and were the first to leave the team. The team is participating for the first time in the World Cup finals, but has already won two bronze medals in the European group, Avanche 2021 and Lumoulin 2019.

Josephson has 61.67 percent for his dressage program and stands at 38.3 penalty kicks ahead of Saturday’s terrain and is 40th after Thursday’s finish.

– He was a little excited. A lot was good, he made nice changes to the trotting but he blew up a bit after that. We’re going to release him, but I have to get him to breathe a little more,” Josephson says.

Sofia Sjöborg and her husband Bryjamolga VH Marienshof Z competed last year individually in the European Championships in Switzerland and became the second best Swedish crew with 13th place. Today, 24-year-old Sjöborg, usually based in England, made his WC debut with 67.16%, 32.8 penalty kicks and is 22nd place.

Sweden ranks 12th out of 16 countries participating in the team competition.

Tomorrow, 44 beginners ride their dressage program. After that, Amanda Ingolfsson and Frieda Andersen will start in Sweden.

Great Britain at the top

Great Britain WC’s Laura Collette started with a personal best with the London 52. With an impressive 80.74%, she was the only one in the 45-team starting field to have 80%. The result means 19.3 penalty kicks and Colette is in clear progress now, and the second is Yasmine Ingham with Banzai de Lauer with 22 penalties. New Zealand’s Monica Spencer came third with an artist with 25.6 penalty kicks.
