You know that when you’re on your way to visit someone, family or friends, and then you call back and forth. When will you arrive? We are stuck in a queue, have to stop and shop and a lot of other information bounces back and forth in a lot of calls or texts.
The Google Maps feature to show someone else’s flight progress and estimated time of arrival can eliminate all of that. You can share your journey progress with anyone or everyone, and they will always be able to see how far you are progressing.

You may have already used a similar feature that shares your real-time location, but it’s not quite the same, your route and time of arrival are shared, traffic conditions and transportation routes are taken into account. For some time now, Google has been able to calculate how traffic jams and other things are affecting the trip, thanks in part to its acquisition of the Waze app.
The feature has been around for a while, but make sure you’re running the latest version of the Google Maps app to make sure everything works as correctly as possible.
1. Navigate
Find your destination and then use the directions feature to start navigating to it.
2. Share
When you are in navigation mode, swipe up and a menu will appear. In the menu, select the option Share your trip progress
3. Select the recipient
Select a contact to share your trip progress from Google Maps. You can also share via Messenger, Facebook, and the like.
4. Link
The recipient receives a message and a link, as here via SMS. The link opens the map and you can follow your route.
