A company called Inkbox Software has created an operating system that runs on Nintendo’s old NES console, a console first released in Japan in 1983 under the name “Family Computer”.
Inkbox calls its own NESOS operating system and has also created two applications that can be used with the operating system. A word processor and application with which you can change the appearance of the cursor and add other background images to the desktop. The tiny operating system only requires 2K of RAM which is impressive.
The NESOS word processor can be used in conjunction with the keyboard released for the Japanese version of NES. However, it is also possible to use the associated manual control for typing in a word processor. In the video above, you can check out when Inkbox talks a little more about NESOS.
