Gran Turismo is one of the most popular car simulators in gaming history. The first version of the popular racing game saw the light of day in 1997, when it was released for the first generation of Playstation. Since then, new and more advanced versions have succeeded each other, even today’s Gran Turismo 7 on PS5, where you can drive a variety of exotic sports cars with very beautiful and realistic graphics.

Soon the popular game will become a movie. It’s called in short Gran Turismo (not to be confused with Gran Torino) Sony has now announced a release date. The film will be released on August 11, 2023, a little over a year later.
The film is directed by Neil Blomkamp (known as Elysium among others) and produced by Columbia Pictures. Jason Hall wrote the script that is supposedly based on a true story. It follows a young player who goes from being skilled behind the game controller, to sitting behind the wheel of real racing cars as a professional racing driver!
The producers haven’t released a trailer for the movie yet, so we’ll have to settle for some Gran Turismo 7 snippets!
