Finally, a new game is on the way and the first one is available for free on Steam this week.
Game developer Hangar 13 is creating a new mafia game, which will take place before the events of the original game.
– I am happy to confirm that we have started work on a new “Mafia” project! Although we still have a few years to go and can’t share anything at the moment, we’re really excited to continue working on this beloved franchise and to entertain our players with new stories, says HladÃk.
Game developer Hangar 13 was formed with Haden Blackman in December 2014 as a subsidiary of game publisher 2K, known for its “Bioshock” game series, among others.
In 2020, Hangar 13 reimagines the original games, set in the open world of The Godfather with a history stretching from the 1930s to the 1960s. Rumors claim that the game developer has switched to Unreal Engine 5, instead of the Mafia III engine used in previous games. There were also rumors claiming that the next mafia game would take place in Sicily in the 19th century.
Regardless of the rumors being true or not, we now know that a new game is in the works, but it will be some time before it is fully developed.
Are you looking forward to the new mafia game? When do you think it will be released? Feel free to tell us in the comments below.
