The Knights of the Old Republic Edition may have changed the developers

Perhaps the pause rumor was just a matter of changing the developer.

Recently there have been rumors Knights of the Old Republic– The new version had such big problems that development was paused. But maybe the reason is that the game changed the developers and did not lag behind. PC Gamer thinks so after taking a look Embracer quarterly report from yesterday.

It says that one of Embracer’s AAA games has been “transferred to another studio” to ensure it maintains the quality required for the title in question.

One of the group’s AAA projects moved to another studio within the group. This was done to make sure the quality bar is where we need the title to be. We do not anticipate any material delays in the title based on this transition.

The title is not mentioned, but PC Gamers interprets it as the new version of Knights of the Old Republic. The ‘new’ studio could be Saber Interactive that came out on a hiatus last month and is really helping out in the corner (developed/handled primarily by Aspyr Media).

The downtime data came in an article published by Bloomberg at the end of July. There, two high-profile people were said to have been fired and the project was put on hold after an expensive and bad developer demonstration (a vertical slide) was shown at the end of June.

How valid all of the explanations are currently is not clear. But Embracer plans to show the games at Gamescom’s inaugural Tuesday next week. Maybe, we probably won’t know more about it vertebrate– Remake then.
