The WHO says the new variant Omigron XE may be ten percent more contagious than previous Omigran variants and urges countries to restart the sequence to detect new variants.
Another new variant of Omigran has been discovered in many countries. The new variant is a hybrid between two Omigron strains, BA.1 and BA.2, which was first discovered in the UK on January 19, according to the World Health Organization’s WHO report.
As of March 22, The Independent reported 763 cases of XE in the UK. This variation has also been found in Thailand, New Zealand and Israel.

Initial data indicate that the new variant is more contagious than the previous Omigron variants – ten percent, but the WHO report writes that more data is needed to determine for sure.
Susan Hopkins, CMO of the UK Health Security Agency, says The Sun does not yet have enough data to make decisions about the effectiveness of the vaccine against infection, severity or variation.
