The sunny Spanish coast is a favorite destination among Swedish tourists who want to soothe their joints after a long winter.

But in recent years, the region has experienced several long periods of drought.

This prompted the authorities in Spain to take action. Expressen has previously written about the introduction of strict rules regarding watering gardens and car washing and the introduction of a ban on filling privately owned swimming pools and ponds.

“Measures have been taken to protect health and safety, which is our top priority,” Patricia Navarro, Regional Delegate of Malaga Province, told SUR.

Now another ban has been introduced.

According to the British newspaper Mirror The authorities in the region were forced to cut off running water during the night in the bustling resort of Sotogrande. The first suspension came into effect on Wednesday and was in effect between 21:00 pm and 07:00 am Thursday.

“It comes as a big shock”

British tourist Rob Brunner reacts with frustration to the water stop.

“It was a big shock when we found out the day before,” he says. Birmingham Live.
