Black Friday is over, but so far there aren’t many reports on how things went for e-tailers out there. One player that is sharing some data, however, is Shopify, and that seems to have gone well.

The platform provider is pleased to announce that Shopify’s e-tailers have once again set a new record with a measured GMV of $4.1 billion. 42.7 billion Swedish kroner. 22 percent more than last year.
Another epic, record-breaking Black Friday for the history books for Shopify e-merchants. The world shuts down for our merchants and the excitement for Cyber Monday gets even bigger,” Harley Finkelstein, chief operating officer of Shopify, said in a statement.
E-commerce across borders
According to Shopify’s numbers, the hottest categories during the Black Friday period from November 23 to 25 were apparel, personal care and jewelry. The collection also shows that the average customer basket landed at 110 dollars, approximately 1,150 Swedish kroner.
Along with cities like Los Angeles, New York and London, e-tailers in the US, UK and Canada account for the largest share of sales. It is also worth noting that approximately 15 percent of all orders are made across national borders.
