It’s now clear that Australian company Recharge Industries is buying what’s left of British Volt and going ahead with plans to build a battery factory in the UK. The company is currently building another battery factory in Victoria, Australia. They want to make lithium-ion batteries that don’t come from China or Russia to avoid problems with the supply chain. It collaborates with battery developer C4V and in the future will be able to produce batteries from Australia with materials, US technology and a factory in the UK.
It is currently unclear what Recharge Industries will pay British Volt.
