New Year’s rockets on Gulliver scare the dog Prinz – they hit the nose of the mathematician

Charlotta has trained and competed with dogs for half her life, and over the new year the couple took several measures to reduce stress on Prinze, who has a fear of noise. At bedtime, she would hug him before bed, and the next second he would cut his nose.

– He’s a dog I’ve lived with for several years, I just cuddled him every night before we went to sleep. She says he doesn’t have these typical signs and something went wrong this evening.

While the partner found the severed nose and took care of it, Charlotta waited for the ambulance helicopter to Sunderby Hospital. Once there, it was established that she would have to travel to Karolinska, where she underwent surgery five times over the course of three weeks.

“The nose had traveled in a bucket at the end of the foot all the way and when I woke up and saw that the doctors had managed to put it in there, I remember being so happy,” says Charlotta.

Operation in Germany

But the chance of survival of the nose was small, and it later had to be surgically removed. On the return visit, the news came that no one in Sweden could carry out the reconstruction.
