Alingsås SM Gold Champion Mikael Aggefors ended the celebration. After defeating Logi last Saturday night, the team celebrated at their home in Alingsos on Sunday.

Now it’s about taking a chance in the national team that meets Norway in a double international match Wednesday and Thursday in Skövde and Alingsås.

– It would be very interesting to be able to play a home international in Alingsås, says Aggefors, who is vying with Sävehof’s Peter Johannesson for the spot in the blue and yellow goal.

Five of AHK’s members are on the team

Union captain Staffan Olsson matches a young squad in training matches.

– We have five players with us, it’s a great feeling, says Agefors, who has teammates Daniel Thelander, Max Darg, Johan Nilsson and Jesper Konradsson in the squad.

After the final whistle at Malmö Arena last Saturday night, Mikael Agefur’s thoughts went straight to his father, Arne.

He died of cancer a year ago. He has been my biggest supporter and I can’t help but think how happy he is.

Follow the son’s path

Arne Aggefors has followed his son throughout his career

– He has been involved in handball for a very long time.

Did he mean a lot to your career?

– I don’t know. He was never really a coach, but he was more of a team manager and things like that. But he was with me everywhere and always defended me.

What happened to your father?

– He got cancer. He received the news last February and underwent surgery a month and a half later. But unfortunately there was still such a spread that the cancer could not be stopped.

It’s now been about a year since Mikael’s father passed away, so he hasn’t been able to experience his son’s biggest success yet.

Do you feel that he has a share of the gold?

– Not right away, but of course the feeling afterwards… It was fun being there. He followed me closely and was well aware.

Agifors has already earned three senior caps and has one year left on his contract with Alingsås HK.
