National team striker Marcus Fors played the entire match when his Brentford side were responsible for making a buzz in the English League Cup. The team beat Premier League club Newcastle and is ready for the semi-finals.
Brentford lost the crucial accessory match for a place at PL to Fulham last season. In this season’s League Cup, they have shown that they can perform very well against opponents of the Premier League.
On Tuesday evening, the championship club beat Newcastle in the League Cup quarter-finals. Turku-born Fors was able to see the match’s only goal from close range.
The 21-year-old Finn stood in front of Newcastle goalkeeper Carl Darlo when Serge Canos found Joshua Dasilva’s cross in the 66th minute in the middle of the penalty area, and Dasilva hit the ball.
We missed the upgrade recently, but I don’t think we’re far away. Dasilva said on the Sky Sports broadcast that this team is made up of a nice group of men who believe in the future.
Thanks to the goal, Brentford first reached the League Cup semi-finals. On the way to the semi-finals, Brentford defeated four Premier League clubs: Newcastle, Southampton, West Bromwich and Fulham.
In the second game, Manchester City shined against Arsenal and won 4-1 away from home.
Tonight he plays Stoke – Tottenham and Everton – Manchester United. The semi-final pair will be withdrawn after Wednesday’s matches.
