Klarna introduces a revamped purchasing system, meaning consumers now experience the same Klarna experience no matter where they shop. The new purchase flow gives consumers a smoother and safer shopping experience, standardizes Klarna’s range of payment options and creates more conversion opportunities for merchants.
SStockholm, 19 June 2023 – In the spring, Klarna introduced a renewed purchasing system for all Klarna-connected merchants in Sweden. Klarna Klarna’s range of payment options has now been taken another step forward as it is standardized across all Klarna-affiliated merchants, meaning that however customers choose to shop, they always have a predictable and consistent experience where they can always find their preferred payment method. Klarna online or in store.
With this investment, Klarna takes another step forward in its mission to be a growth partner for its merchants. The new buying flow has already started with good results in several markets, including the UK, where merchants have seen an average 4% change from the buying flow launched in 2021.
A new purchase flow is:
- Quick purchase. By always having the same purchase encounter no matter which online store you shop from, the customer journey is shortened and consumers get a consistent and personalized shopping experience. When a customer chooses to pay with Klarna, the preferred payment method is now saved and returning consumers can complete the purchase with a single click.
- Flexible payment methods. Klarna’s merchants will in future offer Klarna’s full range of flexible payment methods – pay now, pay later and installments – as a standardized offering. This provides consumers with a smooth and integrated experience where their favorite payment method is always available no matter which online store they shop at.
- Safe shopping. Along with the new purchase process, Klarna’s new login service is also being introduced to provide customers with an even smoother and more secure experience. Improves security and reduces the risk of fraud while saving consumers’ shopping preferences.
“This enables our merchants to provide an exceptional shopping experience every time a customer chooses Klarna at checkout. With Klarna’s full range of payment options available for a fast, smooth and secure purchase flow, we ensure consumers can always find their preferred way to pay online and in-store. It is a win-win situation that will create enormous value for both merchants and consumers,” he says Jesper Eriksson, Sweden Manager at Klarna.
The new shopping experience with Klarna’s complete offer will be launched at the end of June and will then gradually cover all Klarna-affiliated merchants in Sweden.
