Saab receives more orders for training systems from the UK

Saab signed an additional SEK 270 million contract with the British Ministry of Defense in April 2024 on military training systems. Saab will now provide equipment and support to the British Army's training operations in Oman. Deliveries are scheduled for 2024-2025.

The order includes Saab's latest instrument live training system based on laser, radio and GPS technology. The system realistically recreates training situations and generates data used to measure performance and objectively evaluate and analyze training. The system will form part of the UK Defense Force's existing tactical simulation capability.

Saab will also provide the Exercise Control (Excon) software system used to ensure system availability and to plan, execute and evaluate exercises.

– We look forward to continuing to support the training capability of the British Army both in the UK and internationally. Our systems are built with interoperability in mind and what we now deliver means the British Army can collaborate seamlessly with the Omani Army and other international partners, says Corgan Johansson, Head of Business Area Chapin Dynamics.

Saab's training system can be used internationally and integrated with other systems based on the same NATO standard. Saab has provided military training solutions to the British Armed Forces for over 30 years.
