Award-winning artist Katie Melua is going on an all-out winter tour in 2020 and is finally back in Sweden! Born in the Georgian city of Kutaisi, Katie and her family immigrated to Belfast when she was nine years old. To date, she has released seven studio albums and is one of the UK’s best-selling female artists of all time.
double album Live in concert – which was recorded with the Gorey Women’s Choir in London – is presented as a magnificent 84-page hardcover book containing images never before shown to the public. The photos consist of moments on stage and behind the scenes, taken by famous photographer Carne Ariely. The book also contains extraordinary illustrations created by the gallery’s creative director Carney and Saul and opens with an introduction written by Katie herself.

This concert begins in Katie’s hometown of Georgia with her solo version of the popular song To Asa Torba Ikafe. Plane song, with his brother Zurab Melwa, tells of their childhood in Kutaisi, followed by Belfast, which follows the family’s migration to Britain where Katie’s journey to becoming a professional musician began. The show continues and features songs from Katie’s seven award-winning studio albums, works by legendary writers who inspired her art along the way, audience favorites and stories from her past. With her are the members of her band and Juri’s women’s choir – whose powerful and ethereal voices are a constant reminder of their home. From stormy autumn, quiet English winter, and finally to spring with the world in full bloom, the performers on stage finally take the show to a hopeful, happy and upbeat ending, with a majestic cover of Louis Armstrong’s wonderful world.
