March 25th is the date all beer lovers should mark on their calendars. We have invited several different breweries to Nöjesguidens Oelmässa in Stockholm, and now you have the opportunity to get to know them beforehand.
The first is Jessica Heydrich of Hop Notch Brewing. Jessica previously brewed beer for the S:t Erik brewery and has been acclaimed for her contributions to the development of Swedish beer. In 2018, together with Magnus Karperyd, she acquired the Waxholm brewery in Stockholm and started her own brand, Hop Notch.

Pandemic, outbreak of electricity prices, and recession. What actions did you take to deal with survival?
– You should not brake on a slope. So we sit quietly in the boat and steadily accelerate forward, just as before.
Do you do anything other than beer?
– Ha ha ha. Don’t understand the question. We played a lot of golf, before we started the brewery…
What’s your best beer?
– You get better and better the longer you work with something, so newer beers are always more fun. But the best is probably Unicorn Sauce and Hello Sunshine! Which we fermented most of the time and thus honed the recipe so that it was exactly as we wanted it.
