Google is developing a smartwatch from Fitbit Who is using OS wear. Google completed the Fitbit acquisition earlier in 2021 and this year Google IO Conference So the two companies introduced that they would create a new premium class wearable device.
To date, all Fitbit units have used the company’s operating system, which (as expected) is entirely health focused and has limited opportunities for other popular functions on smartwatches.
There is an option to download apps from third-party developers via the Fitbit mobile app, but the selection is very small.
Using the Wear OS, Fitbit gives you access to email, receive notifications from your phone, use maps, and download a large number of apps from third-party developers – while tracking your heart rate, activity, stress level, workouts, menstrual cycle and other health data.
This watch can work well as a link between devices such as Fitbit Versa or Fitbit Sense With distinguished watches like Apple Watch or Samsung Galaxy watch.
We don’t know when the first Fitbit will launch with Wear OS or what exact features it will have, but we will provide you with more information as soon as we know it.
Fitbit on Wear OS
Google also plans to bring some key Fitbit features to all devices that currently use the Wear system, including celebrations for when you achieve certain goals (like the number of steps you set) and measuring other activity on your wrist.
Wear OS already has its own Google Fit app, so it will be interesting to see how it works with the new tools from Fitbit without creating duplicates of functionality.
