Google has removed the apps permission list from Google Play. More difficult to find out what the application requires access to from the phone.

Several Android users reported that the Android Google Play Store no longer shows the permissions that the app requires from the phone after installing it. This may include permission, for example, to use a mobile phone’s camera, locations, network, etc.

Previously, it was possible to list the permissions required for an app on Google Play, see the example in the image above, but now this has been replaced by something Google calls “data security” (“data security”), see the example below. Within Data Security, the information that the developer of the application itself gave to Google is displayed, which may not be as reliable as the list of permissions that are now gone. BlueSpace app developer writes:

“The list of permissions is objective and cannot be falsified. On the other hand, ‘data security’ depends entirely on the developers’ statements, and Google does not know whether the developers are honest.”

There is no information on why Google removed the App Permissions list from Google Play and Google has not commented on it yet. Permissions on apps you install can still be checked under each app in your phone’s settings. However, sometimes, you may want to check this before installing the app, which is no longer possible now.
