The greatest of all time.

David Murdoch’s tribute to Niklas Eden goes straight to the heart.

Eden says he may have to say that.

Fourth place in Vancouver 2010, bronze in Sochi 2014, silver in PyeongChang 2018, and finally gold in Beijing 2022.

Niklas Eden finally took the Olympic gold and was greeted on Monday with Team Eden and Team Haselburg, by friends, loved ones and the Swedish curling family in Arlanda.

– Super fun to come home, we are a little tired and exhausted since the trip but when you come here you will be reminded again of the great we did. We’ve been investing in this for a long time now for several Olympic stints, and now we have to cap it off with an Olympic gold, in the best shape we’ve ever seen, it’s unbelievably cool.

– I think it will take some time before you land completely. Eden says it’s an incredible relief and it still seems somewhat unrealistic.

The Olympic gold medal was recovered after a thrilling match against Great Britain and the match was billed as the best championship match curling had seen.

“supervisor”

David Murdoch, the Olympic silver medalist from Sochi and now captain of the British national team, chose to highlight Eden.

Not a little either.

Murdoch means Eden is the greatest of all time.

– For me it is. Murdoch said he won five gold medals at the World Cup and won gold, silver and bronze medals at the Olympics DN.

Big words, says Eden himself.

It was such an honour, he himself is one of the greatest curling sports of all time and a very good friend of mine. We have baked for many years. He might have to say it (laughs), Eden says.

TT: What do you think when you hear such big words?

– He thinks we’re one of the best teams of all time… It means that no matter how much you feel, of course you’re super excited to hear such things. We feel very proud of this gold.

“Take some free time”

TT: What is waiting now?

– It’s hard to say, there’s one WC left and we’ve won three gold medals in a row, and it’s still a streak that could also be a very historic thing if we could win the fourth for example.

However, first, a few weeks of rest awaits the team, and in the end important decisions.

– After the season, we will be taking a real thinker in terms of what we want to do in the next four years.
