Nine Swedes participated in IOC activities
Gunilla Lindberg, who has been an IOC member since 1996, remains the most influential Swede in the world of sport and is a member of five IOC committees when its president Thomas Bach has now provided staff on all IOC committees. In addition to his work within the IOC, Lindbergh also serves as Secretary General of ANOK, the association of the world’s National Olympic Committees.
Other Swedes who have gained the trust of Chairman Thomas Bach are Frida Hansdotter, Pernilla Wiberg, Ole Dahlen, Petra Sörling, Stefan Holm, Ole Dahlen, Niklas Carlsson and Johan Eliasz. In total, Sweden is represented by eight people, four women and four men, on nine of the IOC’s 33 committees.
Once again, the IOC maintains an equal gender distribution on committees with a total of 583 positions, of which 287 are held by men and 296 by women.
