It may sound sarcastic but it’s true. Donkey has decided to register with Airbnb as a new host to list Shrek’s Swamp as a home. Based in England’s Scottish Highlands, the listing says the house has a studio that sleeps three guests and two beds and one bathroom.
Amazingly, the listing is very accurate, as the local area is designed to resemble Shrek’s swamp, and the house resembles the much-loved fictional hovel, with a boot-like interior. Obviously, the biggest difference here is that guests can shower and do their business in an actual bathroom, though it looks a lot like Shrek’s iconic outhouse.
The listing description says: “Located deep in the wilds of the Scottish Highlands, with the comforts Shrek has collected over the years, The Swamp offers a retreat like no other. This muddy, moss-covered, murky watery oasis is the perfect place to escape village life and embrace the beauty of nature.”
As for why Shrek’s Swamp is now on Airbnb, it’s for a good reason, as Airbnb will make a one-time donation to children’s charity HopScotch as part of the booking. If you believe you can spend a night at Shrek’s house Opens reservations 6pm BST on 13 October, one and two night stays between 27-29 October.
