Comedian admits – after ‘attack’ on Beckham: ‘It was fake’

David Beckham’s choice to agree to become an ambassador for the much-criticised football tournament in Qatar has received a lot of criticism. Something happened not only in England but all over the world.

For being an ambassador of the tournament, David Beckham is said to have received more than 100 million kroner. A while ago, comedian Joe Lysette gave the soccer icon a phone call.

– If you end your relationship with Qatar, I will donate 10,000 pounds (about 125,000 kronor) of my money, one cent for every million you earn, to a charity that supports the queer movement in football, he said.

If David Beckham won’t listen and cut off his cooperation, Joe Lysette will rip up the money instead.

When Beckham wouldn’t listen, Lycett went from saying to doing and running the money into the chip machine.

– He said that not only would you be ripped off money, but also your status as a gay icon.

Destroying money is a crime in the UK. At first, Lysette said he was not intimidated by the law but that he would be willing to face the consequences of the procedure. But later it turned out that his work was not as strong as he first wanted to give the impression. Lycett admitted, in a video on Twitter, that the move was a ruse.

The money he destroyed was fake.

– The banknotes were fake. I will never destroy real money, that would be irresponsible. In fact, she has already donated $10,000 to an LGBTI charity. I sent this money before I even posted the tweet, says Lycett.
