Austria had their first quarter-final appearance at the Hockey World Cup in 30 years and have a chance to put Finland under more pressure ahead of tonight's group final against Switzerland.
Only three points were needed against reigning Great Britain, who had lost all five of their previous matches earlier in the Championship.
But it liked it Not for Alpine country.
After heroic efforts that gave them victory against Finland and points against Canada – in one of the most unlikely comebacks in World Cup history – the British suddenly found it very difficult and Austria lost clearly at the O2 in Prague.
With the score tied 1-1 after two periods, the British team scored three straight goals in a 4-2 victory.
That's what it means Fourth place in Group A goes to Finland, which will have no points to take in the tough task that awaits them against Switzerland on Tuesday at 20.20.
We already know that Austria's missed opportunity will see Tre Kronor, top of Group B, face Finland in Thursday's quarter-final in Ostrava.
The timing of the quarter-finals will be clear only after the evening finals, when Sweden take on Slovakia.
