Preparations for the plant are currently underway and the goal is to start operations in the second half of 2022. UK-based Mpac Lambert is a developer of automation and mass production solutions, has nearly three years of collaboration with 24M Technologies behind it. As Freyr would use 24M technology in battery production, it was only natural that Mpac Lambert would be highly regarded as an equipment supplier, and Mpac Lambert would supply casting equipment and unit cell assembly to the Norwegian company’s cell production line. This is Freyr’s contract for production machinery and was described by the company as an important milestone and a major step toward production. According to the press release, the contract with MPAC Lambert also means Freyr has alternatives to deliver equipment packages for casting and a unit cell unit for the company’s planned gig factory.
