Apple TV + has already impressed with a number of productions, but the question now is whether the lavish adaptation of Isaac Asimov’s groundbreaking book could be the best yet.
The “Enterprise Trilogy” by author Isaac Asimov has inspired “Star Wars” and many other science fiction stories over the years. But only now will the book have its lavish adaptation, led by screenwriter and presenter David S. Gower (“Batman Begins,” “The Dark Knight”) on Apple TV +.
Founding takes place over 1,000 years in an alternate sci-fi universe, when scientist Dr. Hari Seldon predicts that the giant empire will collapse – after being ruled by Cleons clones for centuries. To save and preserve civilization, Seldon and some of his loyal followers set out to create an “enterprise”… that is underappreciated by clones who fear losing control of all the planets in the universe.
Starring Jared Harris as Harry Seldon and Lee Pace as Brother Day. Actors Lou Llobell, Leah Harvey, Laura Birn, Terrence Mann, Cassian Bilton, and Alfred Enoch also appear on camera during the first season.
The first three episodes of “Foundation” will be released on September 24th on Apple TV+. The first season will consist of a total of ten episodes.
