Victor Lexel and Anne Bron were praised at the Grammis

The Grammy Gala is taking place at the Södra teatern in Stockholm – almost six months later than planned, as a result of the pandemic. Unlike in previous years, there is no large audience made up of elite Swedish artists on site – only candidates are allowed to attend.

First praised as Ane Brun, she came home this year to alternative pop music for her album After the Big Storm. The 45-year-old Norwegian has a fruitful 2020 behind him with two album releases, leading to four nominations – as many as Victor Lexel, Ana Diaz and Yassin.

– Fabulous. “I was so happy now, after a year like this, you’re so happy,” says Anne Bron, who has tears in her eyes from the stage.

Victor Lexel takes home the figurine for this year’s song “Weak.” He also had the chance to attend Album of the Year, Artist of the Year and Best Pop for later in the evening.

Yassin is out of place

Although Yassin is a party favourite, he’s not there – the hip-hop artist is currently being held pending trial, after a high-profile trial. The same goes for hip-hop artist Haval, who was nominated in this year’s Newcomer category. Both are accused of involvement in the kidnapping of another young artist.

Earlier, the Ifpi Sweden trade association commented on the criminal suspects in a written comment to TT:

“This year’s nominees include a number of people suspected of crimes. Of course, Grammys has no sympathy for suspected acts, but he sticks to our view that artistic achievement should be evaluable without looking at anything. The suspected crime.”

Sandin and Maggio performance

Last year, Amy Bramy C led the party with Renee Miro. Now she’s back in the role, but this time comedian Joanna Nordstrom is on her side.

During the two-hour concert, several artists will perform, including Veronica Maggio, 1 Cos, Benjamin Ingrosso and Gricaso. First was Molly Sandin with “They Should Know” and “Someone Else Now”.
