Plans to create a new European closed league for the biggest clubs are worrying football fans. Liverpool, who belong to dissident clubs, felt angry reactions over the Premier League match against Leeds.
Liverpool is one of 12 clubs that have announced that they will play in the new Premier League. When the team played its away match against Leeds, the decision was protested in several places.
Outside of the Elland Road circuit in Leeds, the fans’ message was that the greed of the big clubs is killing football. Pre-match Leeds players prepared in T-shirts with the same message.
Liverpool’s players have prepared with their usual equipment but coach Juergen Klopp said in connection with the match that he was still against the Premier League.
Among Liverpool’s players, James Milner has harshly criticized the decision to form the new league.
He told BBC Sport: “I don’t like it at all, and I hope it doesn’t come true.”
The current system has worked well for a long time. The special thing is that we ourselves deserved to win the Champions League and the Premier League. The current system is working fine.
– It’s tough. Supporters in Leeds have clearly stated what they think. As players we don’t have much to say about him so it just seems unfair.

Leeds tie, but may tie
Liverpool participated in the Premier League this year in an equal battle for a place among the top four. Under the current system, fourth place would be awarded in the Champions League for next season.
In the match against Leeds, Liverpool went ahead for a long time thanks to Sadio Mane’s goal. Diego Llorente returned to a 1-1 draw a few minutes into the match.
