The good news for Manchester City … will not be stopped from the Champions League Sports

The European Football Association (UEFA) suspended Manchester City from the European Games for two seasons, prompting the club to appeal to the Cup. Now the great English club is receiving a message of joy – the Court of Arbitration for Sport is lifting the suspension, at the same time the fine is being lowered.

In February, UEFA ruled that Manchester City had violated financial fair play regulations. The punishment was harsh: the club was suspended from European Games for two years and would also be fined € 30m.

The regulations are based on not allowing the club to lose more than 30 million euros during a period of three years, excluding some expenses such as youth activities and women’s teams. According to UEFA, the English major club committed violations of the rules between 2012 and 2016, by drastically inflating their bail income.

On the field, City have already secured their place in the CL next season. The club has always claimed that it adheres to the financial rules, and has appealed the UEFA ruling from last winter to the Cass Sport Arbitration Court.

– We deserve our place in CL with our game. We hope UEFA assures our players that they will get to where they deserve. That is what City coach Pep Guardiola thought after beating Brighton at the weekend.

And Guardiola got what he wanted. Cass chose not to follow the EU line – the only penalty would be a fine of ten million euros. Thus, the previous suspension is lifted for two years.
