Until the 95th minute of the match, the European Championship looked like a major failure for England's star-studded squad, after Ivan Schranz, played by David Strelic, scored the winner for Slovakia 1-0 in the 25th minute.
England were not there to finish. Despite enjoying a huge advantage in possession, they failed to muster a shot on target – until Jude Bellingham's scissor kick in the final minute of stoppage time forced a draw and extra time.

When extra time started, Harry Kane headed home the first goal to make it 2-1.
Slovakia kept fighting and there were dangerous situations, but it was England who would play Switzerland in the quarter-finals.
Gareth Southgate and his team have been criticised for not making a bigger impact so far in the tournament, with Arsenal midfielder Declan Rice saying the last 16 was a turning point.
– We can still improve, but the mark of a good team is when you don't play at your best but you have togetherness and heart, we will never give up, Declan Rice tells SVT Sport.
