The first battery-powered stump trimmer designed specifically for forest management. This is how STIHL presents the new HTA 150, which also has a more powerful brother, developed for professional tree care.
STIHL launches two battery-powered clippers, the HTA 150 and the HTA 160. The first mentioned has a long shaft of 196 cm, a blade of 30 cm, and weighs 4.7 kg. According to the manufacturer, it is well suited for the care of small plantings and mixed plants.
Operating time with the recommended battery, AP 300 S, is 70 minutes according to STIHL.
– The HTA 150 comes with a powerful EC motor. With a lightweight magnesium gearbox, this engine features high torque and low vibration. In addition, it has an easy-to-clean air filter that ensures engine cooling and thus a long service life with consistent high performance, says Mats Gustafsson, product launch manager at STIHL Norden, in a press release.
More than four metres
The more powerful STIHL HTA 160 is designed for cutting at high altitudes in professional tree care. STIHL emphasizes good ergonomics with low vibration, low noise level and LED display in the work handle.
Using the telescopic handle, the length can be adjusted between 285 and 405 cm. Also in this model, the length of the sword is 30 cm. The HTA 160 weighs 6.9kg, just over two kilograms more than the smaller HTA 150.
– In addition to effective results, HTA 160 was developed to reduce pressure and provide smooth and easy use, even for longer periods. The side position of the chain makes it easy to tighten the saw chain, and the integrated heavy-duty sub-hook reduces the risk of clog. In addition, the user can always see the oil level in the semi-transparent tank, says Mats Gustafsson.
Both new STIHL logging shears will be available at authorized dealers in summer 2024.
