The earthquake was felt in New York City, Connecticut and New Jersey. It is believed that the epicenter of the earthquake was near the town of Lebanon, New Jersey New York Post.

The New York Times wrote that people in Philadelphia and Boston were also affected. Several airports on the East Coast are also said to have been closed to landing. This applies, among other things, to New York's three main airports.

Police in New York told the newspaper that they had not received any information about any casualties, but that they were conducting several operations in the city.

“My team is assessing the impact and any damage that may have occurred, and we will update the public throughout the day,” New York Governor Kathy Hochul said.
