More heat than is good
Tests indicate that there are thermal issues for the new Mediatek Dimensions which can significantly impact performance.
With the start of the Vivo
Part of the background and the special thing about the Dimensity 9300 is its architecture which consists of “all big cores” or only high-performance cores – four Cortex-X4 cores and four Cortex-A720 cores. Otherwise, the norm is usually a mix of high-performance and low-performance cores.
Initial processor tests where the processor was pushed to measure performance show clear signs that “all the big cores” are causing heat issues to the point that the processor lowers performance to avoid overheating. Posted test results Sahil Carroll Shows the results of so-called CPU throttling where the processor is pushed to the limit, such that performance drops below 50 percent performance after two minutes. For comparison, corresponding tests with the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 showed that the Qualcomm processor drops to 80 percent performance after 10 minutes.
