It gives you good vibrations (on the face).
Playstation VR2 is released on February 22nd, and FZ is seeking a beta. We haven’t got it yet, but our fellow Sweclockers have been able to test the headset out in the big game Horizon: Call of the Mountain.
During CES in Las Vegas recently, Noelia Donoso-Ahlstrom managed to force her way into a test session. Short, but still long enough to give first impressions of the game and new feedback on both controllers and headsets. by this way you write:
In Horizon: Call of the Mountain, there is a new hero and the first thing the Devil has to offer is a journey in a canoe that glides through a dense forest. It gives a taste of many of the new PSVR2 features, including touches built into both the headset and controllers. As the massive creatures move again and again, their footsteps or wingbeats sync up with the vibrations, which travel from the left control to the headset and finally to the right control, or vice versa.
Combined with other small details, such as the ability to keep hanging vegetation out of the way or how the skin texture of the hands changes when dipped in water, it heightens the experience exponentially and makes the whole thing feel more real. Plus, OLED panels look like a good choice, with good color reproduction and contrast in the colorful forest.
Whether the PSVR2 is worth the nearly 7,000 crowns will be answered in the FZ test, which we hope will emerge before release. Until then – everything about PSVR2 is here.
