Russian state-controlled media claimed that Ukrainian forces bombed separatists in eastern Ukraine early Thursday morning. However, the information has not been confirmed by anyone else.

According to the RIA news agency, Ukrainian forces fired machine guns and grenade launchers at Russian-backed separatists in Luhansk. It is said that the bombing targeted at least four places, at half past three Swedish time.
The source of the information was mentioned as the representative of the Luhansk separatist forces in the body, which is English abbreviated JCCC, which was formed in 2014 to maintain Ukrainian-Ukrainian military contacts and the ceasefire stipulated in the Minsk Agreement. The JCC has been on hold for some time now and western parties accuse Russia and the Russian-backed separatists of continuing to act in its name, among other things by continuing to wear its insignia on their uniforms.
“Information about the dead and wounded is being verified,” said the representative of the so-called Luhansk People’s Republic, as reported by the somewhat more independent Interfax news agency.

RIA is one of the main state-controlled Russian news agencies and usually relates to the Russian government’s view of things.
From a separatist point of view, it asserts that Ukraine’s alleged actions constitute a violation of the Minsk Agreement.
Earlier on Wednesday, the United States had indicated a possible date for a Russian attack on eastern Ukraine, citing its own intelligence. It has also been said many times that Russia is planning attacks under a false flag – that is, to launch something that can be blamed on someone else, in order to justify its attack.
The Ukrainian government did not immediately comment on Russia’s allegations of bombing it on Thursday morning.
Russia rejected all information that an attack was planned against Ukraine, despite the massive mobilization that took place around Ukraine.
It is estimated that there are currently up to 150,000 Russian soldiers along the border.
USA: They are strengthening
Russia has said since Tuesday that troops are about to return from what were described as temporary exercises across Ukraine, but that information has been met with great skepticism.
According to the United States, Russia has beefed up its forces with another 7,000 soldiers in recent days.
– President Putin has deployed a (military) capability that can operate in a very short time. He can press the shutter button – and he can do it today. Or tomorrow. Or next week, US Secretary of State Anthony Blinken said on Wednesday.

Background: Ukraine crisis
In the fall of 2021, there will be reports and information that Russia is gathering forces militarily around the border with Ukraine.
In mid-December, Russia demands that new countries, including Ukraine, not join the NATO defense alliance. NATO rejects Moscow’s list of demands.
Western countries condemn Russia’s actions and threaten to impose severe sanctions. At the same time, intensive negotiations are taking place at the highest level to resolve the crisis.
The escalation will continue until 2022 and it is estimated that there are currently over 100,000 Russian troops along the border.
In February, several countries, including Sweden, urged their citizens in Ukraine to leave the country, after repeated warnings from the United States that it had evidence that a major Russian attack against Ukraine might be imminent.
