Benedict Cumberbatch stars when Roald Dahl’s short story “The Wonderful Henry Sugar Story” is made into a movie.
The wayward director Wes AndersonBest known for his latest comedy “The French Dispatch”, he is the next major director to switch to live streaming. He will soon be filming Roald Dahl’s The Wonderful Story of Henry Sugar for Netflix.
The short story from 1977 follows a man rich in stones who learn magic tricks such as seeing through playing cards, and even looking into the future. Netflix has also bought the rights to all of Roald Dahl’s work, so more movie adaptations will follow. Anderson is no stranger to Dahl’s fairy tales – he’s previously adapted the children’s book The Wonderful Fox as a fantastic animated movie. Recording of “Henry Sugar” in the UK has already started in January.
In other words, it sounds like Wes Anderson’s planned ‘Asteroid City’ project, another ensemble movie he puts together. Bill Murray, you may have to wait.
