It won’t be long before the world’s most luxurious yacht builders show their news at the Cannes Boat Show in September. The new VanDutch 40 yacht that is sure to grab attention.
VanDutch stands for luxury and personality. But it’s not a boat for everyone, Yachtingnews writes. The magazine may be right, because anyone not interested in a simple design with clean lines should put their money elsewhere.
The Dutch brand is now owned by the Italian manufacturer Cantiere del Pardo. The Italians have added new technology and new materials to luxury motor yachts. VanDutch is now “Made in Italy”.
The VanDutch 40 was launched during the Cannes Boat Show, and it competes in the same league as The new flagship of the Fjord Le Grande 53XL, which Dagens PS wrote about earlier this week.
least is more
VanDutch 40 is so simple and clean in its design that you will immediately think of the phrase “less is more” coined by the German architect. Ludwig Mies van der Rohe.
There are no superfluous details getting in the way, and the luxury boat exudes quality in everything from the choice of materials to the color scheme.
And the Italians know that a thirsty rider doesn’t want to go the long way to get ice for a drink. Perhaps that is why there is a small refrigerator built into the table in the cockpit.
A large L-shaped sofa in orange surrounds the table in the middle of the cockpit.
But on the left, the console has one seat, but on the other hand, three people can comfortably sit. The console has two 12-inch Garmin screens, and everything from lighting, sound and of course navigation is controlled from here.
Like a shed in New York
Below deck there is a kitchenette and lounge area more spacious than usual for a 12-meter yacht.
It’s airy, bright and feels like a modern penthouse apartment rather than the lower decks on a motor yacht.
The interior is designed in the same strict style as the roof above, and here, too, there are absolutely no superfluous details.
All in all, the VanDutch 40 is a motor yacht for the slightly ardent design enthusiast of Italian yachts in the luxury class.
