Netherlands – England, semi-final
when: Wednesday, July 10 at 9pm
where: Signal Iduna Park, Dortmund.
TV/Radio: SVT1, SVT Play, P4 Radiosports.
What's ready for 90 minutes?
England's only left-back, Luke Shaw, missed England's first four games through injury, and FA captain Gareth Southgate was then forced to move around the defence to overcome the lack of a left-back.
In the quarter-final against Switzerland, which went to extra time and penalties, the Manchester United player was substituted after 78 minutes of play.
Ahead of the crucial semi-final against the Netherlands, Shaw says he feels ready for 90 minutes.
– It's Gareth's (Southgate's) decision, I feel ready to lead.
The controversial judge
The referee for the match between the Netherlands and England was Felix Zwayer, who was convicted in 2005 of match-fixing.
The German referee also has a history with England midfielder Jude Bellingham. In the winter of 2021, Bellingham was fined over 450,000 Swedish kronor for criticising Zwayer after a match between Borussia Dortmund and Bayern Munich.
Luke Shaw says the choice of referee will not affect England.
– We have to respect UEFA in their choice of referees, no matter who they choose. It won't change anything for us. We are only focused on the game, not on the referee we got.
