Two young children went missing – and were found five days later

31-year-old Jamie Lee Kelly’s two children, a three-year-old daughter and a newborn son, were at a center for vulnerable mothers and children in London.

On Tuesday, Kelly left the center with the two young children, against the wishes of staff.

This led to Kelly being wanted by the police. They released Kelly’s name and photo and appealed to the public to come forward with information that might lead to her discovery.

Five days later, the children were found at an address in Essex on Sunday.

-We are very happy and relieved that the two children have been found after extensive search work in the past few days. Lewis Basford of the police says they are safe, doing well, and are being looked after by medical staff.

I went to the police on my own

Jamie Lee urged Kelly to turn herself in to police.

– Call us or go to the police station as soon as possible, says Lewis Basford.

A 31-year-old woman was arrested later Sunday after she entered an east London police station alone, police said.

Police have not specifically identified the 31-year-old woman arrested as Jamie Lee Kelly, but say they are no longer appealing to the public for information that could lead to her discovery.

Three other people were arrested on charges of aiding and abetting crimes related to the disappearance of the children.
