On Tuesday 24 May, he met in Bornholm, Danish Defense Minister Morten Podskov, Norwegian Defense Minister Bjorn Arild Gram, and Jan Olof Lind, Minister of State for Defense Minister Peter Holtqvist. The meeting was held in the context of the annual US-led “Defender-Europe” exercise.
Sweden and Finland as potential NATO members and future Nordic defense cooperation are on the agenda for Tuesday’s meeting in Bornholm. It was held at the same time as the US multinational exercise Defender-Europe 22.
The Ministers of Defense and Foreign Affairs received guidance and presentation during the exercise. As part of the exercise, parts of the Danish Army, Navy and Air Force were trained for coastal defense from Bornholm and in the Baltic Sea with the United States. The exercise focuses on building readiness and interoperability between the United States, NATO, and partner nations.
