Notifications, notifications, notifications
There is no new Android version without notifications turned on. And for good reason. With more and more apps constantly catching our attention, it eventually becomes impossible to focus. Notifications have gone from being an asset to an issue, and in addition to changes made by Google, One UI also has news to help you keep it in check.
The most important news is that the first time you launch an app, you will be asked if you want it to send you notifications. So here you can say no to apps that you don’t want to disturb you.
If you want notifications from an app, but they’re too frequent or too distracting, it’s easier to access your notification settings. There is a button at the bottom of the notification row. You also get more choices about how notifications are displayed. As before, you can choose whether the notification should sound and vibrate or just appear at the top, but you can also choose whether it should appear on the lock screen, give an app badge or create a popup when you receive it. If the app developer defines different categories for notifications, you can also adjust them here so that you get the notifications you think are important but fewer unwanted ones.
